What a beautiful day for HPD Thursday Futsal Today! Sunshine, cool afternoon breeze and three courts full of Hawthorne's youth playing the game they love. Adding to the fun was Hawthorne's own, LA Galaxy star, Gyasi Zardes. When ever Gyasi is available he comes out and spends a couple of hours teaching, playing, signing autographs, and posing for pictures with our kids. Thank you Hawthorne PD for this fine program. And a very special thanks to Sergeant Chris Cognac.

You are always welcome to join us on Thursdays.
Coaches Across Continents Nora D. came to the Futsal courts today and held a clinic for the Kids along with playing Futsal. It looked like the Kids had a great time, learned some new drills, and had some time to talk with Nora.
Today the kids playing Futsal ranged in age from 5 years old and up to 18 years.. The little kids teamed up with the bigger kids and the Futsal was beautiful. Everyone got to play three games on a beautiful warm afternoon. The older kids made sure that the little kids played just as much as they wanted. True leadership and sportsmanship !

A large turn out of family and friends came out to see and CHEER on these young girls, some of whom never skated before joining the team, much less played organized hockey. Their coaches worked tirelessly teaching the girls to skate, and the rules of ice hockey so they were all ready for today's very first game!
